Can I ask you some questions?

I want to ask you some questions and I want you to be HONEST with yourself.

Is your mind preoccupied with food?

Being scared to deviate from your list of safe foods, eating the same things on repeat

Concerned about the right things to eat and making the “healthiest choice”

Worried about the timing of your eating and constantly fearing eating “too early”

Hyperaware of how others eat and how your eating compares

Do you speak critically to yourself?

“You should be ashamed of yourself!”

“Look at you! Disgusting”

“Nobody wants to be with you or have you around”

“You’ll never change, you’re pathetic”

Are you limited in your ability to live life to its fullest?

Because of your “food issues,” you can’t go on holiday. Or if you do, it’s a time when you restrict even more than usual.

You won’t eat out with friends or family. In fact, people have stopped even asking you because it’s been going on for so long. Or if you do eat out, you check the menu in advance or have a limited range of restaurants you will eat at.

You avoid conflict. Even when you can recognise you should say no or stand up for yourself, you don’t dare to.

You spend large amounts of your time moving (exercising, walking, cleaning) and the inability to not move impacts what your day looks like

Is your body giving you signs that it’s not coping?

You’re cold

You have trouble sleeping (getting to sleep, staying asleep, night sweats, nightmares)

Your digestion is a mess

Your period has stopped

Your hair is falling out

You injured yourself and it’s taking forever to heal

You’re exhausted

Are you in constant conflict with yourself?

There’s a part of you that recognises the absurdity of the situation and how restricted you are and everything that you’re missing out on. Life is now small and you can see this.

But then there’s this out part that keeps you distracted. Focused on how busy your life is and that you just don’t have the time or the capacity to deal with this right now. That it’s too hard to recover, that this is as good as it will get.

If the above is resonating with you and you can see that this is how your life looks, let me assure you that this is a temporary situation. Despite the thoughts your mind may be generating or the apparent difficulty of changing your situation, it is possible to have a completely different experience.

Let me share some comments from clients I’ve worked with.

“Today is the first time since perhaps being a child that I am able to thrive internally and externally. Chris was the missing piece of the puzzle. Chris gave me the keys to my life and I’ll always be grateful.”

“Talking to Chris I became more aware of my values and what I want to achieve. Life is so so much better without having eating issues.”

“[Now] I’m not constantly worrying that my body isn’t getting what it needs. I now feel so differently about how I look, it’s not like the critical thoughts never cross my mind, but I am able to see them for what they are and let them go more easily, and realise that how I look isn’t what is most important to me, it’s how I feel.”

“I am starting to see that my body is capable of functioning normally.  I feel like a teenager again.  I am enjoying life, eating whatever I want, and having fun. Our work together has both saved my life and created an opportunity for me to truly live.”

When I work with clients, they don’t just get over an eating disorder. Instead, they truly transform their life.

Is this something that you’d like too? Would you like to…

Have your symptoms improve: you can sleep through the night; your bones are optimally protected; you’re no longer cold; your period has come back; you can digest a wide range of foods; your hair, skin and nails are strong and healthy; and you feel energised and embodied.

Have thoughts about food and eating drift into the background so you have time and energy to dedicate to your kids, partner, work, relationship with god, or anything else that you truly value.

Feel strong and courageous, having learned how to set boundaries and have difficult conversations. Leading to healthier and deeper relationships with people you truly care about and who care about you.

Truly feel in control, not just having the illusion of control that the eating disorder provides. Because you now have the tools to create distance between yourself and your unhelpful thoughts or to create room for uncomfortable feelings so there is no longer resistance.

Imagine that we’re chatting a year from today. What would you like to see happen in your life by this time next year? What would be possible in your life if you were to accomplish this?

Also, imagine five years from now. What will life be like if you DON’T make a change? So often I work with clients who have been struggling for 10 or 20 years. As things get better, their greatest regret is “I wish I did this sooner. I wish I didn’t waste so much time”

This week I’m opening my doors to new clients and I have six spots available. If you want your life and your relationship with food to be radically different, I’d love to help. I know what’s possible, even if it seems impossible to you right now, and I want to help you get there.

If this is something you want, I’d love to help.  You can click here to register for a free Recovery Strategy Call, where we can talk about what’s going on and you can find out more about what working together would look like.

I want you to get to a place of full recovery and would love to support you through this process. But act now, as these spots won’t last long.
