Hey Chris, the last few weeks I had been thinking that I wanted to learn more about this topic, and was just wishing that you’d put out some material on it! This came at a great time and was very informative. It’s sad that so many women and girls don’t know what’s happening in their own bodies every month. I’ve been looking for a good book that goes into more depth on this topic, and preferably also covers what sort of things can go wrong in the cycle, their consequences, and how to fix them. Any suggestions? Thanks!
Hi Sarah,
I’m glad you enjoyed the episode.
http://www.seven-health.com/2016/02/025-issues-with-your-menstrual-cycle/ Have you listened to this other show I did? Maybe it can answer some of the questions around things that can go wrong (or at least some of the reasons this can happen).
In terms of books, I kind of struggle to make suggestions. While I’ve read lots of books on the topic they always contain lots of information I disagree with. If I was going to make a suggestion I would say to check out Dr John Lee’s “What Your Doctor May Not Tell You About Premenopause”. I don’t agree with all of it (not every issues is due to too little progesterone and/or too much oestrogen, which is how the book can leave you feeling) but it is helpful.
Cheers,
Chris
Thanks Chris! I have watched the other episode, which was also super helpful. I’ll check out that book, I appreciate the suggestion!
