Virgie is an author and one of the USA’s leading experts and lecturers on fat discrimination and body image. She is a plus size style writer for BuzzFeed, the founder of BABECAMP and the creator of #LoseHateNotWeight. Virgie also edited the anthology Hot & Heavy: Fierce Fat Girls on Life, Love and Fashion. She holds a Master’s degree in Human Sexuality with a focus on the intersections of body size, race and gender. Virgie has been featured by the New York Times, MTV, Al Jazeera, NPR, Yahoo Health, Yahoo front page, the San Francisco Chronicle, Huffington Post, Cosmopolitan Magazine Online, Bust Magazine, and was recently named in the Women in Power issue of San Francisco Magazine.
