You see all the ways your life is being negatively impacted by the eating disorder. You experience the disconnect between knowing what you need to do…and still struggling to do it.
But when you take a moment to reflect, you know deep down that your life could be much better than this. Significantly so.
You know you want and need support to make this a reality.
Hey I’m Chris Sandel. I’m a nutritionist, coach and expert in the field of eating disorder recovery.
I’ve worked with clients for over 15 years, helping them to reach a place of full recovery. Not harm reduction or getting you to a place of “recovered enough” or “quasi recovered.” But where you are no longer impacted by eating disorder thoughts and you can get on with what’s truly important in your life.
If you want to leave your eating disorder behind for good, I can help make this a reality.
I’ve worked with clients who have been living with eating disorders for over 30 years…and helped them make a full recovery.
I’ve also worked with people who have only developed an eating disorder in the last few years…and we spared them the pain of this being a multiple-decade issue.
It’s why clients have said things like:
“You saved my life”
“This is the best investment I’ve ever made for myself”
“Working with you was life-changing”
I’m deeply empathetic and compassionate. But around here, that’s not where we stay. Instead, I help you navigate a new way of acting to create a whole new life.
I understand the power of connection and the importance of a strong therapeutic relationship. I’ll always be YOUR biggest advocate and truly believe that you can reach a place of full recovery (even while you’re unsure of it).
I understand how the body functions and what happens when it’s not functioning as it should.
I’m a deep thinker and infinitely curious. I love combining disparate bits of information to discover patterns and new understandings. I’m endlessly fascinated with human beings; wanting to understand how and why people do what they do.
I’m passionate about recovery. I know the devastation that eating disorders create. Unfortunately, the recovery industry is clearly lacking and regularly creates more harm rather than relief.
Your recovery is hugely important for you. It’s also important for the world. The ripple effect that your recovery can have on your kids, family, friends, and community can’t be overstated.
It’s why I’m on a mission to help you (and as many others as possible) to fully recover. So you can share your gifts with the world.
I am 42 years old, married to a magnificent woman called Ali and the proud father of Ramsay, my 6-year-old son. Being a parent is the hardest but most rewarding thing I’ve ever done
I’m originally from Sydney and moved to London when I was 21, moved to the English countryside at age 31 and moved to Scotland at age 41. Let’s see what happens at 51!
I’ve never had an eating disorder but have dealt my fair share of body shame, depression, fears around showing emotions and the damage of getting hooked by unhelpful thoughts and beliefs
I take my own personal development very seriously. I have a therapist, I have coaches, I’ve been part of men’s circles, I attend trainings and I’m constantly reading and listening to podcasts so I can become the best version of myself
I attended the College of Naturopathic Medicine (CNM) from 2006-2008 and graduated with a Diploma in Nutritional Therapy
I founded Seven Health in 2009
As a perpetual student, some of my areas of continuing education have included: Intuitive Eating (IE), Health At Every Size (HAES) ®, eating disorder recovery, Motivational Interviewing (MI), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), polyvagal theory, Neuro-linguistic programming (NLP), trauma, behavioural psychology, and habit formation
While I love living in Scotland, I miss my old Sydney beach life, so I have a soft spot for European destinations that can scratch that itch: Lisbon, Barcelona, Ibiza, San Sebastian, Sardinia, and Croatia
Outside of work and family, my biggest passion is golf. I love watching it, but I love playing it more. Scotland is the home of golf and is the perfect playground. So, in the summer, when the days are long, you can regularly find me on a course.
